DFW With Kids is an adult-facing planning guide for parents, caregivers, grandparents, and other adults looking for family activities in Dallas–Fort Worth. This policy explains what information dfwwithkids.com collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information collected when you visit
KnownHost hosts the site, and Cloudflare provides network delivery and security services. They and our WordPress installation may process basic technical records needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, browser or device type, requested page, referring page, date and time, and network-error or security information. We use this information for security, troubleshooting, reliability, and abuse prevention.
DFW With Kids does not offer public user accounts, child profiles, comments, public chat, or user-uploaded files.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity remain off unless you choose Accept optional analytics. If you accept, Google Analytics may collect visit and session statistics, approximate location, and browser and device information. Clarity may collect pseudonymous interaction data, such as page views, clicks, scrolling, and session playback, so we can find usability problems.
We strip query strings from analytics page locations, mask forms and entered fields from Clarity, and do not load Clarity on URLs containing a query string. Searches, entered locations, ZIP codes, email addresses, form fields, and registration details are not sent to analytics. Google Signals, advertising storage, advertising personalization, and user-provided-data collection are disabled. We do not use Meta Pixel or behavioral advertising.
You can accept, reject, or change this choice at any time with the Privacy choices button at the bottom of the site. Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage. Analytics cookies and identifiers are used only after acceptance. Google describes its practices in the Google Privacy Policy, and Microsoft describes its practices in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Adult event submissions and direct messages
The Submit an Event form is for adults. It collects an adult contact name and email address, public event details, an official source URL, and, if supplied, a first-party image-candidate URL and rights statements. The form does not accept image files. Submissions remain private until reviewed, and submitted facts are independently checked before they can become editorial content.
Do not submit a child’s name, birthday, school, photo, medical information, or precise personal location. If you email us, Google/Gmail processes the address and information you choose to include so we can respond to your request.
How information is used and shared
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the site.
- To review adult event submissions, verify public facts, and communicate with the adult submitter.
- To understand aggregate site use after optional analytics consent.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect the site, its visitors, and others.
Service providers may process information to provide hosting, network security, email, analytics, or related site operations. These providers currently include KnownHost, Cloudflare, Google, and Microsoft. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use personal information for targeted or behavioral advertising. Their practices are described in the KnownHost Privacy Policy, Cloudflare Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy, and Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Articles link to official venues, organizers, registration services, and other third-party websites. Once you follow one of those links, that third party’s privacy policy applies.
Retention
Adult names and email addresses stored in the form’s dedicated contact fields are automatically removed after 90 days. That automatic purge does not cover personal information mistakenly entered in the free-text event-details field, so do not put personal information there. Non-personal event facts, source and image-candidate URLs, rights statements, and editorial evidence may be retained for source history, corrections, and accountability. The submission rate limit uses a short-lived pseudonymous key derived from the adult email address, IP address, and hour; the application does not retain the raw IP address in that key.
Google Analytics retains user- and event-level data according to the property’s standard GA4 setting, which is either two or 14 months; aggregate reports may persist. Microsoft states that Clarity playback data is generally retained for 30 days and that click, heatmap, labeled, or favorited data may be retained for up to 13 months. Hosting and security records are retained as reasonably necessary for operations, security, and legal obligations.
Children’s privacy
The site’s planning tools and submission features are designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe child personal information was submitted to us, email [email protected] so we can review and remove it.
Your choices and requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information you submitted, or ask a question about this policy, by emailing [email protected]. We may need to verify that a request concerns your information. Some records may be retained when required for security, legal compliance, or the establishment or defense of legal claims.
Security and policy changes
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy when our practices or services change. The effective date at the top will be updated when the policy changes materially.
